Our emerging Director Jeremy has created a video clip for the Captured competition, run by the AU review and Larry Heath.
This is the second year that the competition has been run and had its debut at the Harvest festival over the weekend, where all films were played to the audience.

Deep Sea Arcade have taken their paisley, psychedelic, ’60s inspired music and turned it into a paisley, psychedelic, ’60s inspired film clip. ‘Granite City’ is the latest tune lifted from the band’s fantastic debut album Outlands.

Here’s what they had to say about the clip: “The video clip for ‘Granite City’ was co directed by Jimmi James Wright and Imogen Smyth Prado. The majority of the clip was shot at a mansion and the surrounding property in Normandy, France aswell as other parts of Europe and the UK.

“Jimmi and Imogen tried to capture some spontaneous moments while we were on tour through Europe and UK. Because of this spontaneous approach the clip is shot on a range of different formats from a digital camera to Super 8 film and even phones. The video clip not only suits the song in our opinion but in some ways can be seen as a moving tour diary.”

Mid-Way through the heavy trawl of the 48 Hour Film Project, sections of the Moose team headed to the Factory Theatre to watch and record the album Launch of Sydney’s “Winter People”. This is the second time we have worked with the guys, and hopefully not the last. They are an immensely talented group of performers and their debut album “A Year at Sea” is already creating waves throughout Australia. We hear the tour has been a resounding success and wish them luck through its continuation. Check out what we saw!

Donna and Riley are a young emerging talent within the Newcastle music scene. PaperMoose teamed up with the band over the weekend to compete in the Captured 2.0 competition. Captured is a competition run by The AU review’s Larry Heath and in its second year, is once again teaming up young local bands with filmmakers to create a video of their choosing. The shoot looks amazing, and we are sure you can’t wait to see it in it’s entirety.

Open Road Film Festival

The Open Road film Festival is a competition run by Harley Davidson and asks filmmakers to create the six minute prelude to the the climatic closure created by Gregor Jordan and Bryan Brown. PaperMoose teamed up with Christopher Stollery to spin the concept upon it’s head and create a hilarious, yet thought-provoking tale of love in a Carrs Park Motor Inn. Stay tuned for the release of the full tale in the coming weeks.

48 Hour Film Competition

The second 48 Hour Film Competition of the year saw PaperMoose draw the wildcard category of Time Travel. Seaton Kay-Smith turned the concept on it’s head and created a bombastic tale about an inner city Neil Armstrong. Questions of saving the past and future are all tackled with hilarity by Victoria Beck and Nick Hunter in “A Future Past the Present”. Stay tuned for the films premiere in just a few weeks time.
